Some List Of Domain Name Extensions And Their Countries

Like i have often stated on most of my blog posts, domain names can best be described as your home address. Its more like your address on the internet. Everyone knows the most popular domain extension to be .com and the com stands for commercial, which means domain names with the extension .com are commercial websites or domains but most webmasters overlook this and just go with the crowd.

Usually, an organizational website is not supposed to use .com domain extension rather they are supposed to use the .org domain which clearly means organization but this is often overlooked as .com is believed to be the most widely used and easy to remember, well it actually is.

Are you aware that most domain name extensions are country targeted? What this entails is that, some domain names are actually targeted at some countries hence you should be able to tell which domain is owned by a particular country. I quite understand that domain name extensions do not really play an important role in the kind of visitors received as most internet users do not look at that rather they focus on the content and what they stand to benefit from the site but wouldn’t it be nice for you to know these domains and their countries?

What Are Domain Name Extensions?

Domain Name Extension refers to the suffix added at the end of a domain name which makes the website accessible. Examples of some domain names are .com, co.cc , co.uk , co.nr e.t.c

More so, there is also .tv which is more like a television website. The reason i did not add these above is because they are not country targeted domain name extensions.
